Bottega Organica Extra-Nourishing Face Formula

I tested the Bottanica Organica Extra Nourishing Face Formula ($78) for 30 days. I’m in my 60s and my skin is on the drier side. During this test period, I traveled 30,000 airplane miles so was able to test in extreme conditions.

There have been a couple of Bottanica Organica reviews on the TIA site but to summarize, the company is founded on the research by Dr. Andrea Alimonti, one of Bottega Organica’s founders and a world-renowned geneticist. He identified several Natural Inhibitors of Senescence (NIS) — natural substances with the potential of slowing the aging of human cells. A star ingredient found in all of the products is prawn sage, a type of sage so called because it’s pretty, bright red flowers are said to resemble the heads of shrimp. The Extra Nourishing Face Formula also contains vanilla planifolia, apricots and wild carrots which are antioxidants that support and revitalize skin. Chamomile and high mallow in the formula are for soothing the skin and there is shea butter and beeswax for hydration.

All ingredients are harvested and processed in Bottega Organic’s farms in Italy and upstate New York. They use extra-virgin, organic olive oil from their Ligurian farm as the base for the products because they state it is the single most effective natural carrier for the anti-aging plant extracts.

The Bottega Organizca Extra Nourishing Face Formula comes in a brown glass bottle in a 0.5 oz size for $78.00. The small size is my only complaint but it fit in my one quart sized plastic bag for ariplane travel perfectly. The consistency of the formula is like a heavy, thick oil which makes sense since it is oil with shea butter and beeswax. I found the natural vanilla smell to be delightful. 

Since my skins tends towards dry, I continued to use my serums and applied the Extra Nourishing Formula over my serums as a moisturizer. Once the Nourishing Formula was rubbed into my skin, it felt hydrating and soothing. My skin looks fresh despite my high miles air travel. I would highly recommend this brand because the quality control is high and the ingredients are tested for purity and the products work.
