Youva Bright Eyes Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Youva Bright Eyes Anti-Aging Eye Cream

By Sonya S.

Let me start by saying that I’m a beauty junkie — I love trying new products and waiting to see results. I have combination skin that clogs easily and occasionally flares up in red patches on my cheeks, so I have to be very careful with the products I choose.  On the other hand, at 45 years old, I’ve been blessed in that crow’s feet and dark shadows haven’t shown up around my eyes. The skin above my eyelids is starting to look a little crepey, though, so I was more than willing to try Youva Bright Eyes Anti-Aging Eye Cream ($62).

This was the first time I had heard of Youva, whose motto is “Fresh from the Fountain.” After nosing around the site, I got the impression that the brand values all-natural, good-for-your-skin products. The anti-aging eye cream claims to fight fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles with an impressive list of key ingredients.

Hyaluronic acid helps skin retain moisture and strengthens its barrier for a suppler and plumper appearance. Marine collagen, which is extracted cold sea fish, has antioxidant properties that combat environmental damage, as well as hydrate and plump cells. Finally, there is licorice root, which is one of the oldest remedies in history. Its benefits include brightening and evening out skin tone, and it has been used as an alternative to the harsh chemical hydroquinone when treating hyperpigmentation. Most importantly for those of us with sensitive skin, licorice root extract is said to quell irritation and redness.

I have been using this cream twice daily, patting it gently above and below my eyes, for over a month.  It has a floral scent that’s a little stronger than I expected from an eye cream; however, the natural fragrance didn’t bother me or irritate my eyes in any way. The cream is very lightweight and absorbs quickly. A huge plus for me was that it didn’t leave any oily or greasy residue on the skin as other eye creams I’ve tried have.

I haven’t seen any improvement in the crepiness under my brows, but the cream provides ample hydration and a brightening boost.  I would definitely recommend you try Bright Eyes based on the wonderful, certified-organic ingredients inside and the positive results you may achieve with long-term use. My jar is only half empty, so there’s still time and hope for it to tighten the lax skin around my eyes.
