Hydrolux Review – Right For You?
Hydrolux is a new anti-aging skin cream available exclusively to US residents. Here’s our Hydrolux review.
What is Hydrolux?
Hydrolux is an anti-aging skin cream that recently launched online through a trial bottle offer.
The cream promises to brighten your skin’s appearance while restoring radiant, firmer skin and smoothing the appearance of stubborn fine lines.
At first glance, Hydrolux looks identical to a number of other skin creams we’ve recently reviewed: it uses identical sales copy, identical web page design, and an identical trial offer. There are even identical models and pictures used across the page.
All of these skin creams also feature a similar list of ingredients – including “snake venom peptide”.
How does Hydrolux work to improve the appearance of your skin? Let’s find out more about how Hydrolux works.
How Does Hydrolux Work?
Hydrolux claims to work by brightening your skin’s appearance and restoring radiant, firmer skin. It achieves these benefits using an ingredient called Syn-Ake peptide cream. Often referred to as “snake venom peptide cream”, Syn-Ake is a proprietary formula that works in a similar way to Botox.
Syn-Ake will freeze your skin in place using toxins similar to the ones found in snake venom (there’s no actual snake venom in Hydrolux or any other anti-aging skin cream). By freezing your skin in place, Hydrolux prevents the formation of wrinkles. Your skin physically can’t move to form lines, creases, and wrinkles, so you get a reduced appearance of aging.
Syn-Ake has been studied before in a small number of clinical trials. Hydrolux, however, does not list the results of any clinical trials or scientific studies that have taken place.
Instead, the manufacturer of Hydrolux mostly just talks about how much better Hydrolux is than any other skin cream on the market. It also tosses around words like “vitalize” and “replenish” without actually explaining what those words mean.
Ultimately, there’s no evidence that Hydrolux works as advertised – which is unusual given its ridiculously high price tag.
Hydrolux Ingredients
We know that Hydrolux contains Syn-Ake peptide cream. Beyond that, we don’t know anything about the ingredients inside Hydrolux. You’re trusting that the manufacturer has included the right ingredients in the right blend at the right concentrations – which is a lot to ask from some online distributor of an overpriced moisturizer cream.
Some sources online indicate that Hydrolux contains 100% natural ingredients. However, Syn-Ake isn’t really a natural ingredient: it’s a synthetic formula that attempts to emulate a natural ingredient. That’s a big difference.
Ultimately, we know next to nothing about the ingredients in Hydrolux.
Hydrolux Pricing
If Hydrolux wasn’t already setting off alarm bells in your head, then it’s awkward pricing policy may change that.
Hydrolux advertises a price of $4.95 for a sample trial bottle. Customers are led to believe that they’re paying $4.95 for a 30mL (30 day supply) of Hydrolux skin cream.
In reality, that $4.95 price only covers shipping and handling. You’ll be charged the full retail price for Hydrolux 18 days after you order. And, you’ll continue to receive monthly shipments of Hydrolux in the mail until you cancel, being charged the full retail price (plus $4.95 shipping) every month.
Note: If you want to save money on your Hydrolux shipping fee, then just press the “back” button when you’re on the sales page. You’ll see the shipping cost reduced to $2.95.
Ultimately, this trial offer is something we’ve seen with plenty of other skin cream companies. It’s a bit of a scam, because consumers are misled into paying one fee when they’re actually charged another fee. However, since you technically agreed to accept the terms and conditions, you’re still on the hook for the full retail price.
Who Makes Hydrolux?
Hydrolux’s manufacturer doesn’t list any contact information, manufacturing information, or other information about itself online.
All we know about the company comes from its WHOIS listing, which states that the domain was registered on January 24, 2016 by a domain registrar in Panama.
Should You Use Hydrolux for Its Anti-Aging Benefits?
Hydrolux makes big promises about its anti-aging benefits, but fails to provide any evidence to support those claims. Like many popular skin creams on the market today, Hydrolux relies on an ingredient called Syn-Ake, which is a synthetic type of snake venom. That formula freezes your skin in place (like Botox) to prevent the formation of wrinkles.
Ultimately, Hydrolux’s lack of ingredient information, lack of clinical trials, and scam-like pricing policy make it difficult to recommend this skin cream to anyone who wants to reduce the effects of aging on their skin.
