USANA Sensé Review – Quality Skin Care?
USANA Sensé Skin Care is a skincare product lineup made by multilevel marketing company USANA. Here’s our review of the Sense “science-based skin care” lineup.
What is Sensé?
USANA offers a lineup of skincare products called Sensé. These products all promise similar benefits: they claim to be backed by science, for example, while also containing “no added chemical preservatives.”
All products contain antioxidant complexes that deliver antioxidants beneath your skin, helping to revitalize skin cells and keep your skin looking younger.
The skincare lineup is made by USANA Health Sciences, a multilevel marketing company based in Utah. The company has a wide range of products – including health supplements, nutritional products, and nutraceuticals, most of which are made in America at the USANA West Valley City facility.
USANA is one of the world’s largest multilevel marketing companies.
Sensé, by the way, translates to sensible in French. The products have been on the market since around 2009.
How Do Sensé Skin Care Products Work?
Sensé skin care products promise to “offer an innovative approach to skin care”. Some of their shared properties include:
— Self-Preserving Technology, which is a patented formula created by USANA. It consists of liquid crystals that mimic the skin’s own structure and act as packets containing purifying botanicals and antioxidants. So instead of containing preservatives, USANA’s Sensé skin care lineup contains natural ingredients.
— No added chemical preservatives
— Antioxidant complexes in every formula
— Formulated after 10 years of research to properly nourish and hydrate your skin cells
With these common characteristics in mind, let’s take a look at some of the products inside the Sensé skincare lineup.
Sensé Skin Care Products
USANA has launched with 14 products in its Sensé lineup. Those products include all of the following:
— Gentle Daily Cleanser: This mild, soap-free cleanser contains yucca and soapwort bark extract to gently lift impurities from your skin. It also uses clary sage extract, which is a natural astringent, to balance oil levels on your skin.
— Hydrating Toner: The toner promises to remove lingering debris from your skin while also soothing and balancing your skin’s pH. It refines and minimizes the appearance of pores using ingredients like soybean protein, grape fruit extract, and camellia sinensis leaf extract.
— Daytime Protective Emulsion Lightweight Daily Moisturizer: Designed to be applied to your skin in the morning, this lightweight formula promises to protect your skin from the sun while leaving you soft and smooth.

— Serum Intensive Concentrated Age-Defying Serum: Softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles across your face, helping to “retexturize” the skin’s surface. Key ingredients include a hydroxy complex containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, and salicylic acid, which gets absorbed into your skin to boost cellular renewal.
— Rice Bran Polisher Gentle Exfoliating Scrub: Exfoliates dull, dead skin cells to reveal luminous skin beneath. Instead of using harsh chemical exfoliators, the Sensé skin cream uses rice bran to gently scrub away dead skin cells.
— Nutritious Crème Masque Luxurious Spa Treatment: Deep cleanses the skin while tightening your pores and also helping to quench thirsty skin.
— Eye Nourisher Revitalizing Eye Care: This cream is designed to be applied to the sensitive skin around your eyes, where it gently hydrates the skin and brightens the region. It also promises to reduce crow’s feet and dark circles.

— Firming Body Nourisher All-Over Smoothing Hydration: This lightweight, non-greasy lotion promises to hydrate your skin while also toning, firming, and nourishing it using antioxidants and moisturizing compounds. Basically, it’s an all-in-one formula that nurtures your skin in multiple ways.

It comes with a “calming fragrance of lavender” and contains USANA formulas like the Proteo-C vitamin C complex and the Proflavanol-T antioxidant blend.
All products are available to purchase from the Sensé online store at USANA.com or through your local USANA distributor. They’re priced between $15 and $30 each and typically come in a small container (like between 1 and 4 fluid ounces).
Should You Use Sensé Skin Care Products?
USANA is one of the world’s largest multilevel marketing companies. It’s clear they put a lot of hard work, research, and money into the development of their Sensé skin care lineup.
Each of the products in the lineup comes with a complete list of ingredients. The company also uses its own preservative-free technology to keep your skin care products fresh for a long period of time – so you don’t have to worry about potentially harmful preservatives entering your skin.
Nevertheless, Sensé skin care products aren’t exactly “all natural”. You’ll find all of the same chemical bases as other skin creams – including ingredients like sclerotium gum, polyacrylamide, and glyceral laurate. That’s not necessarily a bad thing – but it does mean that Sensé products contain more than just natural ingredients.
It’s also important to remember that Sensé products will be priced higher than most skin care products because a large chunk of the retail price doesn’t go towards the product itself: it goes towards commission for the salespeople who sold you the product.
If you’re okay with paying a higher price, then the Sensé skin care lineup appears to offer good results using mostly natural ingredients.
