XLR8 Plus – Advanced Cognitive Nootropic

XLR8 Plus Review

XLR8 Plus is an advanced cognitive formula that claims to contain clinically-studied ingredients that sharpen your focus. Here’s our XLR8 Plus review.

What is XLR8 Plus?

XLR8 Plus is a recently-released nootropic available through a free trial or on a monthly supply at $50 per bottle.

The cognitive supplement claims to sharpen your memory and provide all of the following other benefits:

Boost Focus And Clarity
— Raise Mental Energy And Alertness
Reduce Perceived Stress And Anxiety

By taking the supplement daily, you can boost your brain power and reverse the effects that aging has on your brain.

How Does XLR8 Plus Work?

XLR8 Plus contains a unique blend of ingredients we don’t typically see in other nootropics. Those ingredients include phenylalanine, glycine, and chromium, as well as a proprietary formula called “The Plus”.

Here’s what each of the active ingredients claims to do:

— Phenylalanine: This is an essential amino acid that we primarily get from our diet. When our body does not have enough phenylalanine, it can restrict “physical and intellectual growth” according to the manufacturer of XLR8 Plus.

— Chromium: Chromium is an essential mineral that was recently shown to boost memory function in the elderly. In that double-blind study, researchers determined that daily chromium supplementation could lead to improved learning, recall, and recognition memory tasks. The manufacturer of XLR8 Plus claims this study was published in the June 2010 Nutritional Neuroscience magazine by scientists at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, but it never actually links to the study.

— Taurine: Taurine is an amino acid that plays a key role in neurological development. It also helps to regulate the level of water and mineral salts in your bloodstream. By acting as an antioxidant, taurine is thought to improve athletic performance and is particularly beneficial when combined with caffeine.

— Glycine: Your body uses glycine to create proteins and it plays an important role in the transmission of chemical signals to and from your brain. One of the reasons why glycine is thought to work is because it contains NH2CH2COOH, a valuable molecule that performs important roles throughout the human body.

— The Plus: This proprietary formula contains a mixture of different vitamins and nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin B6, copper, folic acid, “and many other vital nutrients” that the manufacturer has chosen not to list. “The Plus” proprietary formula is the reason the manufacturer called this product XLR8 Plus.

XLR8 Plus Ingredients

The manufacturer of XLR8 Plus has chosen not to disclose the full list of ingredients in the supplement. There’s no ingredients chart or dosage information listed anywhere on the site.

The manufacturer does claim to link out to an ingredients chart. By “clicking here” on one section, the manufacturer claims you can view all facts about the supplement. In reality, that link just redirects you to the XLR8 terms and conditions page. Maybe they were hoping nobody clicked on it?

In any case, we know that XLR8 Plus contains all of the following ingredients. We just don’t know their dosages at all:

— Phenylalanine
— Chromium
— Taurine
— Glycine
— The Plus (proprietary formula containing vitamin B6, vitamin C, copper, folic acid, “and many other vital nutrients”

These are the only listed ingredients in XLR8 Plus. The manufacturer, however, hints that there are plenty of other ingredients included in the supplement:

“There are many other important ingredients in XLR8’s advanced formula”.

What are those ingredients?
Are they safe?
Does XLR8 Plus contain high levels of caffeine?

These are all good questions that, for some reason, the manufacturer of XLR8 Plus has chosen not to answer.

If you decide to return your bottle for a refund, then you’ll need to contact the customer service care line at 1-800-214-8797. You can choose to return the bottle for a full refund or, if you don’t want to return the bottle, then you’re entitled to a 50% refund.

The manufacturer claims you can return the supplement any time within 30 days for a full refund (although your refund will not include shipping costs and other fees).

Who Makes XLR8 Plus?

XLR8 Plus is made by a company named Enzyme Labs. That company lists its address as:

Enzyme Labs
13860 Wellington Trace Suite 38-161
Wellington, Florida 33414

In addition to creating the XLR8+ formula, Enzyme Labs has trademarked two other nutritional supplement formulas, including Panitrol Extreme Pain Relief and Panitrol XR.

There’s very little additional information about Enzyme Labs available online.

Ultimately, XLR8 Plus makes big claims about its ability to improve the health of your brain. However, it provides very little information to reinforce those statements – there are no clinical studies and no dosage information, for example. For these reasons, XLR8 Plus is one overpriced nootropic supplement that you should probably avoid.
