Pristine Derma Care – Trustworthy Skincare Products?

Pristine Derma Care Review – Is It For You?

What is Pristine Derma Care?

Pristine Derma Care serum is a recently introduced skin care product that supposedly produces amazing results rivaling the wrinklereducing effects of injectables such as Botox.

Pristine Derma Care Ingredients

Pristine’s ingredients include peptides which are reported to reduce the appearance of wrinkles while also plumping and firming the skin. The ingredients in Pristine Derma Care are as follows: Deionized Water, Seaweed Extract, Matrixyl 3000, Goji, Coffee Arabica, Acai, Noni, Pomegranate, Green Tea, Mangosteen, Hyaluronic Acid and Acetyl Hexapeptide8 Argireline.

Claims and Results

The Pristine Derma Care website, PristineDermaCare.com, claims that application twice daily of the serum over 15 days results in shallower and smoother wrinkles. Pristine asserts that within 28 days of regular use problems such as deep wrinkles, crow’s feet, and other age related skin issues are noticeably reduced. We conducted thorough research regarding the science behind Pristine Derma Care serum’s ingredients.

Here is what we found:

Matrixyl 3000The Magic Ingredient?

Matrixyl 3000 is a manufactured peptide blend found in the Pristine Derma Care Serum. It has been shown to help repair the UV damageprone papillary dermis just under the dermis/epidermis junction. The papillary dermis is very fragile and extremely affected by photoaging.

A clinical study using female participants showed that after 2 months of treatment with Matrixyl 3000, the surface occupied by deep wrinkles was reduced by 45%. Additionally, skin’s tonicity elevated by almost 20%. Overall, a reduction of the surface occupied by deep wrinkles of nearly 30% was observed.

Acetyl Hexapeptide8 ArgirelineA Peptide To Replace Botox

Acetyl Hexapeptide8 Argireline is a peptide that has been shown to mimic the impact of Botox for the skin. Skin analysis of an emulsion containing 10% of the hexapeptide on women volunteers reduced wrinkle depth up to 30% after 30 days of treatment.

Neurotransmitter release was significantly inhibited with a potency similar to Botox. However, it displayed much lower efficacy than the neurotoxin. These findings demonstrate that the antiwrinkle peptide emulates the action of Botox, representing a safer albeit less effective alternative.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a lubricating substance found in human joints. Some people apply hyaluronic acid to the skin for healing wounds and for moisturization. There is no substantial evidence to support the notion that topical application prevents aging in skin. However, it may effectively plump and fill wrinkles, making it cosmetically helpful.

Revitalizing Botanicals

Pristine Derma Care includes several plant based ingredients that are believed to provide significant skin benefits.

Seaweed Extract provides many essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that help keep the skin supple and protected. One 2002 study found that the extract enhanced the contraction of fibroblastpopulated collagen gels via increased expression of integrin molecules. A gel containing 1% of the extract was applied topically to human cheek skin twice a day for five weeks. A pronounced decrease in skin thickness measured by ultrasound was confirmed. There was also a great level of improvement in elasticity compared with the control group used in the research.

Coffee Arabica seed oil has an abundance of essential fatty acids, sterols, and vitamin E. It provides protection against skin damage in the form of DNA degradation and sunburn cell formation. In a placebocontrolled clinical study of 40 female participants, a topical mixture containing Coffee Arabica was applied 2X daily as a face wash, and once per day as a lotion. Treated subjects experienced significant improvements in the appearance of wrinkles, redness, firmness, and texture over the 12 week period, compared to the control group.

There have also been a number of encouraging studies on the skin healing properties of Green Tea. Research has shown topical green tea applications to effectively reduce sun damage. A small study showed benefits of a 2% topical application in reducing rosacea. The wrinkle reducing properties are less certain, with a 2005 study demonstrating no improvement in texture from topical green tea treatment.

Goji Berries contain beneficial Vitamin A, which is used to prevent and correct sun damage.

Noni Fruit comes a tropical evergreen tree that grows throughout many regions of the South Pacific. Noni has historically been used as skin healer because of its antiseptic and antifungal properties. The fruit contains sulfura critical mineral for collagen production.

Acai berries are very high in Vitamin C that fightsfree radicals which damage and age the skin.

Pomegranates are shown to be incredibly hydrating. These fruits have high amounts of ellagic acid–an antioxidant that has shown promising results in decreasing collagen breakdown.

Mangosteen is another fruit with high Vitamin C and antioxidant levels, boasting anti-inflammatory properties.

Overall the combination of ingredients have tremendous clinical implications for the effective treatment of the signs of aging.

Our Recommendations

The Pristine Derma Care website states that “The photographs on our site are simulated imagery to illustrate the kinds of results that may be achieved with our products.” Beyond vague statements, the site does not even attempt to highlight any studies or substantive evidence of efficacy. Furthermore, they actually admit that the before and after photos featured are essentially fabricated!

The product does contain some very beneficial ingredients. It could possibly be very beneficial in terms of cost and results to use them in one complete formula. However, based on the company’s reputation and the minimal information they provide their customers, we are hesitant to recommend Pristine Derma Care Serum.
