I was given the opportunity to test the Elena Rubin Stirling Serum ($289) for firming and hydrating. To say this product is a miracle worker might be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. Some background on my skin: I am 63 and while my skin has held up pretty well over the years, I have been frustrated by the loss of firmness and increase in dryness and fine lines. I have tried a number of products with varying degrees of success. Until this. This little peptide-packed power serum (7 in total!) has been a complete game changer for me.
The Elena Rubin website describes this serum as being a must for aging skin, fine lines, crepe-like skin and for anyone considering invasive procedures. They also call it the most effective age-reversing serum they could possibly make. And they know how to package their products. This serum comes in a dark blue bottle with a dropper application that works perfectly but more importantly protects the efficacy of this pricey product.
My beauty routine consists of many steps and many products. I have become an expert at layering but when I received this initially I decided to use it exclusively so I could better track any improvement or lack of. I used it in the morning after washing and then again in the evening. This serum left my skin very soft and smooth and my makeup just seemed to glide on. By day 5 my skin was showing a visible improvement in both elasticity and firmness and my fine lines were starting in smooth out. By the third week I was actually receiving compliments on my skin! And I was seeing an improvement in my deeper lines around my mouth. My elevenses are gone. My skin is plump and glowing.
It’s not hard to understand why this product works so effectively. Of the 7 peptides included, 24% is Hexapeptide-11. This is the workhorse of peptides. Hexapeptide-11 is derived from yeast and why that makes it such a powerful ingredient is still being studied. But powerful and effective it is.
Given the amount of peptides in this product I had very high expectations for some minimal improvements but ended up being surprised at how dramatically this serum has improved the look and feel of my skin. I am now incorporating it into my regular skin care routine and layering it with other products and the results are only getting better.
Around week 3 I was debating whether or not to buy a bottle once this test bottle is gone. At almost $300 it’s an expensive addition to an already effective skin care routine. But in week 4 I realized the improvement is so substantial and so dramatic that the price is really commensurate with the results and I’ve decided this is one product I can not live without! And I suspect this bottle will last a long time. I have been using it almost 5 weeks and there is still a lot left. A little of this luxurious serum goes a long way. Do I recommend this product? Absolutely. Without a doubt!
