NutriBullet Lean is a weight loss system that comes in the form of a blender and some additional nutritional supplements. Should you use NutriBullet Lean to lose weight? Read our NutriBullet Lean review to find out.
What is NutriBullet Lean?
NutriBullet Lean is a weight loss system that comes with a powerful 1200 watt blender along with nutritional supplements and meal replacements.
By buying the system and following the instructions, you can purportedly “lose pounds and inches faster than you ever thought possible” according to the manufacturer.
NutriBullet Lean promises that you’ll see better results in as little as 7 days. It also claims that medical doctors recommend the system to their patients.
These are some bold claims. Let’s dive into what you get with your NutriBullet Lean purchase.
What’s Included with NutriBullet Lean?
NutriBullet Lean comes with all of the following materials:
— NutriBullet Lean Power Base: Uses 1200 watts of power and “MacroBlast Mode” technology to transform ordinary foods into extraordinary nutrition. The blender promises to condense fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and other foods into “silky-smooth drinkable form” – which is pretty much how every blender works.
— 7 Day Transformation Plan: A blender is only as powerful as the person who uses it. With that in mind, NutriBullet Lean comes with a “Transformation Plan” that tells you how to eat the right foods, in the right portions, at the right times. It includes a selection of shopping lists, tips, and tricks you need to become leaner and healthier.
— Lean Boost: As part of a recent NutriBullet Lean promotion, you get a one month supply of NutriBullet Lean Boost. This is a plant protein and fiber blend that promises to optimize your weight loss potential using ingredients that “promote satiety and regularity, and naturally support optimum metabolic functioning.” You’re supposed to mix it in with your fruit and vegetable smoothies.
— Portion Control Tools: NutriBullet calls this the “Portion Perfect Set”. It includes 2 x 32 oz MacroBlast cups, 1 measured short cup, 1 portion perfect plate divider, one healthy fats measuring spoon, and one “boosts and freebies” measuring spoon. The cups have lines on the side indicating how high you should fill the glass with different ingredients, while the spoons help you add the perfect amount of fat, spices, or “freebies” into your smoothie or dish.
There’s also a NutriBullet Lean app, which we’ll get into below.
The NutriBullet Lean App
The NutriBullet Lean app is available for iOS and Android. It’s free to download, although you’ll need to enter your NutriBullet Lean System product serial number in order to use it.
The app comes with the following features:
- Plan your MacroBlasts and Portion Perfect meals
- Receive custom grocery lists based no your selections
- Track your activity levels
- Record your weight loss progress
For example, you can open the app and get a recommended meal plan for the day. Just open the date and then tap on Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack, or Dinner to get recommendations for your meals throughout the day.
Then, each meal comes with a specific recipe. Your recommended AM Snack for Sunday, for example, is a “Lipid Love” smoothie that shows your blood some love with spinach, kale, blueberries, blackberries, avocados, pepitas, and the Lean Boost blend.
Ultimately, the app’s goal is to help you “unlock the weight loss code found in everyday foods.” We know that olive oil, blueberries, avocados, and other foods are healthy for us – but many of us overlook using the right portions. NutriBullet Lean and the Lean app want to help solve that problem.
How Does the 7 Day Transformation Plan Work?
After buying the NutriBullet Lean system, you’ll want to follow the 7 day transformation plan. That plan involves following a strict diet for 7 days in order to lose weight. Here’s how it works:
-Daily MacroBlasts: NutriBullet claims these are the “key” to unlocking weight loss. Each MacroBlast takes 60 seconds to make and forms a delicious, drinkable superfood meal that “tells your body it’s time to stop storing the fat.” You add ingredients based on the lines on the side of the cup, then blend. You get 2 MacroBlasts per day while following the 7 Day Transformation Plan.
-Portion Perfect Meals: This divider is a re-usable piece of plastic that separates your plate into the perfect portion sizes. You fill each section of your plate with the appropriate foods, then lift off the divider when it’s time to eat. Use this divider for lunch and dinner.
-Code-Friendly Snacks: You’re allowed to eat two snacks a day. Some of the sample snacks include hummus and veggies and roasted chickpeas.
-Supplement with Lean Boost: NutriBullet Lean Boost is the nutritional supplement included for free with your initial NutriBullet purchase. It’s a protein and fiber blend that claims to help you feel fuller – so you naturally eat less food. NutriBullet recommends supplementing your smoothies (or even some meals) with this blend to maximize weight loss results.
NutriBullet Lean Pricing
NutriBullet Lean is not available in stores. It’s exclusively available online through NutriBulletLean.com.
The system is advertised as a 15 piece set that costs 6 payments of $19.99 with free shipping.
If you’re not so good at math (like me), then that’s $119.94
For that price, you get the blender, two tubs of Lean Boost, free access to the Lean app, and the 7 Day Transformation Plan.
It’s important to note that NutriBullet also automatically signs you up for an autoship program to receive future Lean Boost tubs in the mail every month. You should expect to pay about $80 for each two tub delivery of Lean Boost (the specific price isn’t listed). You can cancel at any time by calling the company. Can You Actually Lose Weight?
Obviously, weight loss is the key goal with NutriBullet Lean. But can you actually lose weight with this system? NutriBullet Lean makes numerous weight loss claims on its sales page, but also cautions that your “actual results may vary” (they have a legal obligation to tell everyone that).
Nevertheless, NutriBullet Lean claims that a test group of participants lost an average of 17.4 pounds in just 10 weeks. That consisted of an average weight loss of 9.26% of each participant’s body weight.
Participants in that study also lowered LDL cholesterol levels (the bad type of cholesterol) by an average of 20% over the course of the program. Researchers also noted that participants increased lean muscle mass – which is something that doesn’t always occur during a weight loss program (especially starvation-style diets).
Lean participants actually gained an average of 3.65% of lean muscle mass.
You can view the results of the trial here: http://ift.tt/2awq9AS
One problem with the study is that we couldn’t find any info telling us how many people were involved. It involved male and female participants, but we couldn’t find how many were actually involved. We would have liked to have seen more transparency and information about this study. Unfortunately, we only have a 1 page PDF with limited information.
Should You Use NutriBullet Lean to Lose Weight?
NutriBullet Lean is a popular weight loss system that involves using a powerful 1200 watt blender and NutriBullet nutritional supplements to help you lose weight. In one study, participants were able to lose 17.4 pounds of body weight on average (9.26% of their weight) by following the treatment program.
There are some problems with NutriBullet Lean. First, we don’t know how many people were involved in that study, nor do we know much other information about how the study took place. Another problem is that NutriBullet Lean comes with an autoship program bundled in, which means you’re automatically charged for new tubs of NutriBullet Lean Boost every month until you cancel – they don’t make this clear upfront. You’ll need to contact customer service to avoid future charges.
If you don’t mind the $120 price tag, the autoship program, or the lack of transparency with the weight loss study, then NutriBullet Lean appears to be a good way to control your portions and boost the effectiveness of your weight loss routine.
