Beachbody Derm Exclusive is a lineup of wrinkle treatments created by Dr. Andrew Ordon and the team at Beachbody. Read our Beachbody Derm Exclusive review to find out how it works.
What is Beachbody Derm Exclusive?
Derm Exclusive is a lineup of skin care products released by Beachbody, the company best-known for making workout videos like P90X and Insanity. Beachbody just released Derm Exclusive, a lineup of wrinkle-fighting skin creams formulated by Dr. Andrew Ordon, a board-certified plastic surgeon and TV host.
There are four core pieces in the Derm Exclusive lineup, including a fill and freeze wrinkle treatment, a collagen moisturizer, an intensive repair serum, and micro-peel resurfacing pads.
The sales page for Derm Exclusive claims that Dr. Ordon typically charges “hundreds of dollars” for these products in his Beverly Hills clinic – but today, he wants to give you the set of four products at a price of around $50.
What’s Included with your Derm Exclusive Kit?
The Derm Exclusive kit includes the four core Derm Exclusive products. As part of the recent offer, you also get a second Fill & Freeze Wrinkle Treatment, bumping you up to five products in total. Here are the five products you get with your purchase:
-Intensive Repair Serum: Uses two forms of vitamin C as well as ultrasomes and roxisomes to smooth your skin and make it look younger.
-Collagen Lift Moisturizer: Uses encapsulated retinol mixed with Renovage and Collaxyl to heal your skin around the face and eyes. It’s designed to be used at day or night.
-Micro Peel Resurfacing Pads: These pads are designed to provide a quick and easy cleanse for your face. They use key ingredients like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and malic acid.
-Fill & Freeze Wrinkle Treatment (x2): You get two tubes of this serum with your Derm Exclusive purchase. This cream uses ingredients like Matrixyl 3000, Argireline, Myoxinol, and UGL Anti-Aging Complex to fill in your wrinkles and freeze them in place. It’s designed to be applied before you go out – it doesn’t heal your wrinkles long-term, but it does mask the effects of those wrinkles.
Alternatively, you can also order the Advanced Collection, which gives you a 90 day supply of all of the items listed above (at a price of around $130 split into three payments), or you can buy the Derm Exclusive Ultimate Collection, which gives you a 90 day supply of 7 pieces at a price of $164.55. That kit includes additional products like the Facial Cleanser, Age Defense Moisturizer SPF 24, and Age Reverse Eye Cream.
Derm Exclusive Pricing
Any time you’re buying a Beachbody product online, you’ll want to take a very close look at the pricing information. The company is notorious for its annoying pricing practices – like charging ridiculous shipping rates and signing you up for autoship programs whether you like it or not.
As you might expect, Derm Exclusive comes with some serious pricing problems in the fine print. We’ve read through the entire terms and conditions to come up with the pricing information listed below:
-You’ll pay $39.95 + $6.95 ($46.90 Total) for your set of 5 Derm Exclusive products today
-Then, 30 days after you first purchased that kit, your credit card will automatically be charged $39.95 per month, and you’ll begin to receive an additional 90 day supply of Derm Exclusive every 3 months (an additional $9.95 shipping is added to each 90 day supply)
-In other words, you’re automatically signed up to be charged $119.85 + $9.95 ($129.80 total) every 3 months, split into 3 monthly payments.
-There’s no opportunity to decline this autoship program at Beachbody’s checkout page. Instead, you’ll need to call the company’s customer service at 1 (866) 482-6401 to cancel. You can only do this after your purchase has been confirmed and after they have your credit card information.
-All purchases come with a 30 day money back guarantee, although Beachbody will never refund your shipping and handling costs.
If you want to avoid this confusing and annoying pricing policy, then you can purchase certain Derm Exclusive products from Amazon.com, although they tend to be more expensive.
Who is Dr. Ordon?
Why should you pay $130 for a set of skin care products? Who exactly is Dr. Ordon?
Dr. Ordon has appeared on the TV show The Doctors as their resident plastic surgery expert. His “About” page on Beachbody.com describes Dr. Ordon as “an acclaimed specialist in aesthetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery.” He’s bene working for 30 years and has a private practice in Beverly Hills, California.
Dr. Ordon created Derm Exclusive as a way “to help a wider range of patients reverse the signs of aging by offering an affordable at-home alternative to plastic surgery.” As mentioned above, Dr. Ordon claims he charges hundreds of dollars for a similar level of treatment at his clinic – so that’s very nice of him to reduce the price to just $50 for the Derm Exclusive kit.
What Do Customers Have to Say About Derm Exclusive?
Derm Exclusive products are available from Amazon.com, where they’ve collected hundreds of customer reviews. Thus far, it doesn’t look good for Derm Exclusive. The company’s main kit has an average rating of 3.0 stars out of 5 with a total of 370 customer reviews. Most other Derm Exclusive products listed on Amazon have a rating of 3 stars or less. The 30 day supply has more 1 star reviews (33% of all reviews) than anything else.
Why do customers like or dislike Derm Exclusive’s kit? We’ve broken down the pros and cons for you below:
-Seems to work on some people (although most of the positive reviews seem suspiciously positive and a little bit fake)
-“No better than any other store-bought product I’ve had in the past”
-“One of the line filler tubes was empty”
-Many customers complain that the kit is overpriced, as you can find very similar products for a fraction of the price
-Many customers also complain about the scam-like autoship program, which you can’t opt out of on the main ordering page
-On TV, Dr. Ordon said the cost of one Fill N Freeze was $54.95 plus shipping and handling, but a customer said they received an invoice for $175 and then received another charge of $175 a few months later
-Doesn’t achieve any of its promised effects
-There’s only enough Fill & Freeze in each tube for about three applications
Ultimately, there are few positive reviews available online for Derm Exclusive. Most of the reviews complain about the high prices, scam-like pricing policy (including the autoship program), and ineffectiveness of the skin creams. Many customers did say that the creams worked a little bit – although they didn’t work as well as they expected given the price.
Should You Use Derm Exclusive to Reverse the Effects of Aging on your Skin?
The Derm Exclusive lineup of products makes big promises about its effectiveness. It claims to reverse the effects of aging on your skin and fill in wrinkles.
Unfortunately, that’s where the good times seem to end for Beachbody’s Derm Exclusive. The skin care products come bundled with an annoying and confusing pricing policy, which seems designed specifically to confuse customers. There’s also the fact that you’re automatically subscribed to receive additional shipments of Derm Exclusive – and there’s no way to immediately opt out of that program without calling customer service.
But the worst part about Derm Exclusive is the customer reviews online: most reviews we’ve found indicate poor results. Many people claim the creams fail to live up to any of their promises. Other customers indicate the creams worked as advertised to moderately fix wrinkles – but the results were the same as cheaper store-bought creams.
For all of these reasons, Beachbody’s Derm Exclusive lineup of skin care products seem like a lot of hype with little real substance – and bundled with an unnecessarily high price tag.
