I have been hearing a lot about stem cells lately in the news, at doctor’s offices and from cosmeceutical brands, so I was very excited to be given the opportunity to review a product with human stem cells, Lifeline Stem Cell Skin Care Eye Firming Complex ($97). Lifeline offers a full line of professional-strength facial products that include non-embryonic human stem cell extracts from unfertilized human eggs.
They are serious about the ingredients that go into their products, all of which are backed by scientific and clinical research. Their site and parent company, International Stem Cell Corporation, state they have developed the unique encapsulation process to ensure the stem cell extracts are active. Non-embryonic human stem cell extracts have the ability to communicate from cell to cell, encouraging new cell growth.
The Eye Firming Complex not only includes non-embryonic stem cells, which are comprised of a plethora of encapsulated firming and plumping peptides, but it is also packed with additional eye-loving ingredients. Some of TIA’s favorites include a stabilized vitamin C, sorghum stalk juice, hyaluronic acid, triglycerides, caffeine, coconut and olive oils, and chamomile extract.
The generous size bottle has a pump that dispenses only a pea-size amount. It works well to ensure you don’t dispense more than you need for one use. The cream is white in color with a mild but pleasant scent. The silky consistency glides on so smoothly and penetrates quickly, leaving no residue.
My skin is 59 years old and is exhibiting puffiness and sagging around the eye area. I was hoping this eye firming complex would be a quick remedy, but as we all know, there are no quick remedies. I applied it every morning and evening as directed just above the cheekbones and just under the brow bones.
While I did not see immediate results, I would still recommend this eye cream. The more I used it, the better my eyes looked and felt. I have noticed some lifting on the hood of my eye area and it minimized the fine lines. To date there is minor improvement in puffiness and an overall firmer appearance. It also provides ample moisture throughout the day. After four weeks there is still a sizable amount of product left, and I am confident it will continue to do an excellent job of rejuvenating the skin around my eyes.
